What a toddler learns from an experiment
Not the science. They learn to predict ('what will happen?'), to watch, and to say 'again!' The vocabulary comes later; the habit of noticing comes now.
The pattern
Ask the question. Let them guess (any answer is right). Do the thing. Name what happened in one sentence. Do it again. Every Wonder Lab card follows this, with the big idea written in one sentence you can say to a two-year-old and one you can say to yourself.
Three to start
Germs Run Away: pepper on water, a soapy fingertip, the pepper flees. Walking Rainbow: paper towels bridging cups of colored water. Sink or Float: a bowl, a pile of objects, and a yes/no mat. Supplies for all twelve weeks fit in one shoebox; a kid's microscope is the one splurge we recommend.
