The shape of the morning
Every pod day has the same bones so kids stop negotiating and start participating: Arrive (10 min), Circle (10), Stations (30), Big Game (15), Story & Snack (15), Goodbye (5). The theme changes weekly; the shape never does.
Arrive
Shoes in the basket, a hello to each kid by name, and free play near the door. Grown-ups drift in; nobody stands around waiting to start.
Circle
Two songs, the week's word, and the day's plan on the visual schedule. Ten minutes is the ceiling for two-year-olds; if half of them wander, you are doing it right.
Stations
Three stations, one grown-up each, kids rotate loosely: a sensory bin, a make-and-create table, and a big-body zone. Each station is written out in the week pack with what to set out, what to say, and what to do when it falls apart.
The big game
One whole-group game tied to the theme: a parade, a color hunt, animal moves. It burns the energy that Story & Snack needs gone.
Story & Snack, then goodbye
One book, the theme snack, the same goodbye song every week. Toddlers leave calm when the ending is predictable.
