He tried on armor, but it was too heavy for him. He chose five smooth stones and stepped forward, trusting God. David won the battle, and Goliath could no longer threaten his people. Christians remember David's courage and trust. Our challenges are different from David's battle. When something frightens us, we can tell a trusted grown-up and ask for help.

Some light candles, say blessings, share challah, sing, or gather for a meal. Some go to synagogue. Rest makes space to enjoy being together. At our table, we can ask what helps our own family slow down. We might put away a busy task, listen to one another, or take a quiet walk. Your grown-ups can share the Shabbat customs that belong to your family.
