Privacy Policy

What Pod Squad Homeschool collects, why, and who can see it.

What we collect

  • Grown-ups: name, mobile number (used for login), email (for receipts), and city.
  • Children: first name and birth month, so we can size activities and bill the right number of seats. We never ask for more.
  • Pod activity: hosting sign-ups, suggestions you send, and photos you choose to upload.
  • Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, never your card number.
  • Usage: basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, performance) with no cross-site tracking.

How we use it

To log you in (a one-time code by text through Twilio), run your pod (who's hosting, what week is released), bill your membership, and answer your questions. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who can see it

Families in your pod see the names and phone numbers of pod grown-ups on the roster and hosting board, the photos uploaded to your pod, and suggestions you send to the leads. Families in other pods see nothing about you. Our team (the admins) can see all account details to run the service.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Our service is directed to parents and caregivers, not to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The information we hold about children (first name, birth month, lane, optional notes, milestone and Little Wins checkmarks, and photos) is provided by a parent or legal guardian, who controls it and can edit or delete it at any time from the Family page or by emailing us. Photos are shared only inside your pod; please only upload photos that the other families in your pod are comfortable sharing. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

Account and pod data are kept while your family account is active and for up to 12 months after it closes, in case you return; then they are deleted or anonymized. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Community posts you delete are removed from view immediately and purged on our next cleanup. You can request deletion of everything sooner at any time.

Cookies and analytics

We use a strictly necessary cookie to keep you logged in and a short-lived cookie during login. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are privacy-friendly and do not use cross-site tracking cookies. We do not run advertising trackers on the portal.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Vercel (hosting and file storage) in the United States, text messages are sent through Twilio, and payments are processed by Stripe. Each provider handles your data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can update your family details from the Family page, delete photos you uploaded, cancel your membership, or close your account at any time. To request a copy or deletion of everything we hold about your family, email hello@podsquadschool.com.
