The idea
Every week of the Toddler Squad has a Squad Job: a real task with a real result. Wash-Up Station, Laundry Helper, Snack Chef, Market Stand. The job is not pretend. The cups actually get washed.
Why it works
Toddlers want to do what the grown-ups do, and they can tell the difference between a toy broom and a broom. Real work builds the motor skills, the sequencing, and the sense of belonging that a worksheet cannot. It also makes the house run better, which matters when you are the one running it.
Setting it up
Kid-height tools, one step at a time, and a low bar for done. A two-year-old who carries a plate to the table has completed the job even if the plate is upside down. Praise the carrying, not the outcome.
